‘Desperate Housewives,’ Season 8, Episode 7, ‘Always in Control’: TV Recap

Okay, now we’re getting somewhere.

After a slow start to the season, Desperate Housewives delivered Sunday night in suspense, smarts and sadness.

On the matter of the homicide of Gabby’s stepfather, Bree manages to widen the circle of complicity. She persuades Aussie neighbor Ben to hide the body after his workers find it on the site where they’re breaking ground for a low-income housing project. Ben turns to Mike, who’d already agreed to work for him, to do the dirty work.

Ever the loyal husband (not that Ben realizes the connection), Mike gladly signs up, presumably to help protect Susan. So now, the only main adult characters on Wisteria Lane who remain unaware of the said body are Tom, Renee and Mrs. McClesky.

Why didn’t seeming good-guy Ben call the cops? He tells Bree simply that he wants her in his favor bank. Not sure what that portends but we’ll probably find out soon enough. Read More...
