‘Homeland’ Season 1, Episode 7, ‘The Weekend’: TV Recap

On last night’s episode of “Homeland,” “The Weekend”, two “couples” form bonds during pretty unusual circumstances, resulting in pivotal, game-changing moments for all involved.

The first couple, of course, is Carrie and Brody. Picking up where last week’s episode left off, Carrie gets into Brody’s car. The tension immediately is broken as Brody asks if he’s passed the polygraph test. Carrie says he did, though she still silently wonders how he achieved the feat. They drive to a dive bar, where they mix it up with a neo-Nazi idiot, and flee before his buddies can join in on the “fun”. Carrie tells Brody about her family’s cabin, and off they go for a weekend alone (Brody stating his “weekend pass” from Jessica and the kids). Once there, drunken Carrie places a call to Maggie, who is worried her sister’s medicine stash is dangerously low. Carrie insists she’ll be fine until Sunday, and with that, she and Brody lose themselves in a sloppy tryst. Read More...
