Why are the final collections already on the Project Runway website?

I think a couple of weeks ago, I headed to the Bravo TV webby to check out a dress that one of the designers made and was surprised to see that under the "Photos" link, there was a page filled with photos named "Final Collections". There, Kenley, Leanne, Karto, Jerell, Joe and Suede presented their collections at Bryant Park. I thought that it was just another show that they were invited to show their designs at, until I watched last weeks episode to find that Kenley, Leanne, Karto and Jerell's wedding and brides-maid dresses were also par of the show! And that the entire collection which was show on the website IS their Final Collection!

So now I'm confused. Why did Bravo TV decide to SPOIL the finale of this season's Project Runway by already showcasing the Final Collections on their website?

I'm feeling awfully crappy now because I already know what the designs look like and I usually look forward very much to the surprise element of watching the show! Urg. Damnit!

Basically I think it was because the actual Bryant Park show has already been all over the net - it WAS several weeks ago. Because of the timing of this season extending well beyond the date of Fashion Week, the show decided to let the final 6 or so designers ALL show at Bryant Park so as not to spoil the outcome for Project Runway viewers. I have been wondering how they would incorporate that into the actual show and to my surprise they just acted like it did not happen --- leaving many people confused. Hope that helps!

There have been a lot of rumors now since Runway is moving to Lifetime (if they sort out the whole lawsuit thingy) that there's a lot of bad blood between Runway and Bravo and that basically Bravo has done as much as they can to sabotage this last season of the show.Who knows if it's true or not...but it kind of seems so.

They showed the final collections before the finalle last season too. But the thing is, they didn't say which one actually won. Last season I thought for sure just looking at the designs that Jillian was going to win, but ya never know...

Yea, I realized that. I also understand that with the timing of Fashion Week being earlier than the finale of Project Runway, it was hard to time the ending of the show with the actual fashion week, but couldn't they at least try not to spoil the ending? I am pretty upset. Letting the final 6 (or so) designers show at Fashion Week kinda defeats the purpose of there being a final 3, right? And then letting the designers go on and on about how they didn't get to show at Fashion Week and how devastated they are about it, now looks so damn fake!

I totally agree, eunichick... Clearly I think the biggest prize for the designers was getting to SHOW at fashion week... because you never know who is watching and what could come of it. That they all acted so defeated about not being able to show, when in fact they DID.... it makes me feel like PR and Bravo think the viewers ARE idiots. With the internet being what it is, they really should have just handled it honestly. Maybe Rachel is right about the sabotage... I can't think of any other reason it was (mis) handled this way. I don't know who's decision it was, but it was a horrible one.
