Frank Darabont trades zombies for gangsters in TNT's 'L.A. Noir' pilot

Frank Darabont will take his next TV project to TNT.Darabont, who was infamously ousted as "The Walking Dead's" showrunner before the AMC drama's second season, will write and direct a pilot called "L.A. Noir" for TNT. The show, based on a book by John Buntin, will chronicle the long-running battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and gangster Mickey Cohen in 1940s and '50s Los Angeles."Noir is a passion of mine, so I feel blessed to delve into a project that speaks in the hard-boiled vernacular," Darabont says in a statement.
