Following up on John Grisham's 1991 novel and the feature adaptation starring Tom Cruise, The Fir

m tells the story of expert defense attorney Mitchell McDeere (now played byJosh Lucas) -- the series takes place ten years after the novel and the film. Not having read or watched either of these, I can't be sure how true the show stays to Grisham's original source material. Taking a page from legal thrillers past -- FX's Damages comes to mind -- The Firm opens six weeks in the future as Mitch, briefcase in hand, blazes across Washington DC, on the run from two armed gunmen.
