TV ratings: 'Rob' opens big for CBS, 'The Finder' struggles, '30 Rock' beats 'Community'


Fast National ratings for Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012CBS' new comedy "Rob" got off to a surprisingly strong start for CBS Thursday, holding on to most of its "Big Bang Theory" lead-in and helping CBS lead the night by a wide margin.Other premieres were not so strong. "The Finder" opened to pretty soft ratings for FOX, and "30 Rock," while improving on "Community's" numbers from the fall, had one of its weaker outings.CBS scored 14.3 million viewers and an 8.6 rating/13 share in households for the night, leading second-place ABC (8.1 million, 5.1/8) by more than 6 million viewers. FOX took third with a shade over 7 million viewers and a 4.3/7. NBC (4.55 million, 2.9/5) came in fourth, while The CW drew 2.4 million viewers and a 1.5/2.CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic, albeit not by as much. It earned a 3.5 rating to top ABC's 2.8.
