Ricky Gervais on Returning to the Golden Globes: "What's the Worst That Could Happen?"

Is Ricky Gervais nervous about hosting the Golden Globes again? Not after last year.

"What's the worst that could happen?" Gervais told reporters Friday about his upcoming third turn as emcee at HBO's winter TV previews. "I end my career once a week, if you read the press. I only do things that end my career now. That's my fun. That's my extreme sport."

Gervais, 50, came under fire last year for his offensive jokes that skewered Hugh Hefner, Charlie Sheen, the cast of Sex and the City 2 and Scientologists, among others. The three-time Golden Globe winner said he thought he wasn't going to host the show again, but told reporters Friday that he changed his mind after he started reading articles saying he would never be invited back.
