‘Modern Family,’ Season 3, Episode 13, ‘Little Bo Bleep’: TV Recap

 

It’s Claire’s final election push towards her dream of life as a small-town bureaucrat. Spurred on by her failed effort to get a new stop sign, Claire is running for town council. Problem is, a poll finds Claire is “angry and unlikeable.” At first Claire is nonplussed. But then she’s angry. And unlikeable.

To help Claire — or maybe just to torture her — the Dunphy family holds a mock debate to prep for the real thing. The Dunphy kids toot a horn, or zap a game of “Operation” when she rolls her eyes, or wags her finger or shows sarcasm or drones on too long or turns to her “bad side.” She gets tooted and buzzed a lot, naturally. And of course by the end of the mock debate, Claire is thoroughly freaked out.

Meanwhile on the set of my two dads, Lilly is excited to be the flower girl at an upcoming wedding. Unfortunately for her aesthetically inclined dads, Lilly’s dress turns out to be a blue sparkly hideous number that –oh my — lights up with flashing lights. But no matter.
