'The Voice' expands to two nights a week: Too much of a good thing?


One of the things we loved about "The Voice" was its one-night-per-week format, so we can't say we're particularly thrilled that NBC has announced its plan to expand "The Voice" to two nights per week.The network has added a Tuesday night elimination show, which will run for one hour beginning at 9 p.m. EST, in addition to the two-hour Monday performance show. This format has proved successful for other talent competition shows like "American Idol" and "The X Factor."It's no surprise that NBC decided to capitalize on the success of the show with a little extra time, given that its ratings have given the network a much-needed boost in the 18-49 demographic. The results shows will run for six weeks beginning on April 3. The two-hour finale will air Tuesday, May 8 at 8 p.m. EST.What do you think, Zappers?
