One of the most iconic images created by Andy Warhold is his image of that can of Campbells soup. A man claiming to be an old friend of his thought it would create a nice sense of synchronicity to have the famed artist sign some actual cans of soup in his house, and he brought them with him to "Antiques Roadshow" (Mon., 8 p.m. ET on PBS) to see how much they might be worth.
He was stunned and excited to find each can could fetch $1500-2000 at auction -- and probably kicking himself for not stocking up on more cans for Warhold to sign. His excitement continued to mount as signed prints and magazines he'd also brought upped his estimated total to $27,000-36,500.
He excitedly shouted to his mom off-camera that they were going to Acapulco for the weekend!"
But his wasn't the only big news on the night, as "Antiques Roadshow" also featured its first proposal, when a man switched out the antique ring his girlfriend brought to get appraised with an engagement ring. You can't put a price on that.
Watch "Antiques Roadshow" every Monday at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
