‘Southland’ Renewed for Fifth Season by TNT

Fans of the acclaimed police drama Southland can rejoice because the show’s home network, TNT, has given the series a 10-episode order for its fifth season.

As most TV viewers will recall, ‘Southland’ aired for one season on NBC in 2009, but was unceremoniously canceled after its debut season. Not taking that cancellation lying down, executive producer John Wells campaigned for the show with TNT taking up the gauntlet, picking the show up for a new season the following year.
