wispers (season 5 ep 7)

who else thought it kinda lacked plot to the overall scheme of things, and was more like a horror movie than our normal Atlantis?

I think it did have a plot. They are setting up the new next stargate and i have a feeling that the new team would be a all woman team with sam carter as they team leader

I kinda think that was the worst episode of stargate I've ever seen, except maybe the wormhole extreme episodes..

While this episode didn't have the best plot ever I think it showed something that is usually missing from shows such as SGA. Normally the show is too centered around too few people. Sheppard, mckay, taela and ronan are ALWAYS the heroes. It was nice to see other/new characters actually doing something besides getting killed. It kind of reminded me of BSG where there are many many 'main' characters. It would be nice to see more episodes with other members of atlantis going on missions and doing exciting things instead of just sheppard etc...

I don't think it was terrible or pointless. It was something a little different and different is often good. I found that in this case it was refreshing to have an episode that was out of the ordinary, a break from the same old. It scared me quite a bit, but you shouldn't get comfortable with a show. Doing something different like this was a good idea to keep watchers on their toes and let them know that things aren't always the same.

there is a difference between a new format and a totally random episode that doesn't contribute to the overall storyline of the show. Compare this season to the first or second and you will see a dig difference. You would think that with its cancelation, they would be making this the climax of the whole 5 seasons of tv but apparently not....

I think it was an average episode, but I would like to see more significant story lines now that we know this is the final series. I just hope they don't hold off on the Michael resolution until the film.
On another note, I couldn't help thinking there was a bit of a conspiracy going on here? There was all this hype about Leela Savasta joining Atlantis as Captain Vega, then in only what was her second or third appearance, she was killed off. My Scooby sense tells me she's going to become a regular in Stargate Universe.
