Lost the Plot?

Who thinks that Stargate Atlantis is lacking a storyline since the 5th season? its just been random episodes that could of fitted anywhere.

If they are going to cancel it, shouldn't there be a big story line to finish it off? Like take out the wraith once in for all, or a siege?

Its been blah blah, Rodney sick, then next episode nobody even mentions it and its finding one of Michael's bases filled with zombies

Nah they wont finish it off because there going to make 1 or 2 movies like Sg1 did to finish it all off, and since there saying that they don't have enough cash to continue the series you can guess that half the shows of the season will just be fillers.

I have to agree, I think these filler episodes have a place in early series when we're trying to find our feet, but so late on in the tv show is letting themselves down. They've got so many explored story arcs they could begin before wrapping up the Michael/Wraith saga in the movies, such as:- Who were those freaky aliens in The Daedalus Variations that were attacking Atlantis?- What has happened to the Genii?- Have we reeeeeallly heard the end of Replicator Weir and her group of frozen Replicator buddies?- Why is Teyla's child special, and what does it mean for Atlantis?- What has happened to Todd the Wraith?
And so on...

Give it time I reckon, ain't even half way yet. They haven't let us down in 11 years, I don't see why they would begin now.

I think they dont need a storyline. Remember Star Trek TNG? It was just random episodes. I say i like both ways. With and without a storyline.

Well I think there are too many Fluff Episodes in the series but the Last Ep. First Contact was pretty good. They actually created something more Life or Death this Episode than they have for a long time. I actually want to see the following Episode to see what happens. Maybe they need for Cliffhanger endings to keep fans entertained.

The point of the 1st load of episode was put there so we'd unterstand the ending cause i read on the net that if we hadn't of watched them then we wouldn't get the last about 7 episodes so you kinda gotta wait until the end

It's so true, that the writers seem to be exploring so many different options for ending the storyline, and dmpinder has an excellent point. With so many storylines, how are they going to be able to wrap this up? (I'm not even going to get into the why on that question) I'm really disappointed they're ending this show, it seemed to be just finding itself. The last 2 episodes were amazing! Who woulda thought that, huh (I certainly didn't see it coming). Was this the new race they talked about before season 5 began? I think so, but that's kinda lame. It'd be nice to get some good guys again. It also would be nice to see some ancients, not just see them as the idiots the writers are showing them to be when they actually include them in the episodes.
I really liked the episode for Rodney's disease, but again, as previously mentioned, nothing became of it. Lame. Overall, this story needs some kinda closure, for one of the numerous storylines, and soon. Tayla's child is all but gone. I barely even see her in the episodes anymore, and her character has almost been forgotten (mostly because it's not a very interesting character. i'm not too fond of tayla). Todd didn't even die in this previous episode! (he mysteriously escaped). And the Genii? Gone. I'm pissed they're ending this show. It deserves better. I've also become attached to Carson, John, and McKay, and to some extent, Jennifer. They should have used those characters, or included Amanda Tapping, on this next show. Or Teal'c. But introducing all new characters now is stupid; we're just getting to like the characters on atlantis.
