Season 2 of "The Glee Project" is heating up and it hasn't even started. According The Hollywood Reporter, "Glee" stars Naya Rivera, who plays Santana on the series, and Cory Monteith, who plays Finn, will appear as mentors on the Oxygen reality show. The sophomore season of "The Glee Project" kicks off on Tuesday, June 5 at 10 p.m. ET.
Four contestants from the debut season of "The Glee Project" appeared on "Glee" Season 3, one of whom was Samuel Larsen, "The Glee Project" Season 1 co-winner. Larsen will also mentor on Season 2. Monteith and Rivera will appear in the second, third and fourth episodes of "The Glee Project" Season 2, respectively, according to THR.
As previously announced, "Glee's" leading lady Lea MIchele will mentor the contestants on the Season 2 premiere of "The Glee Project." The first episode focuses on "individuality," according to HuffPost TV's exclusive preview. "The real challenge is to be able to work as a group, yet still be able to hold their own as individual characters," explained choreographer Zach Woodlee.
Season 2 of "The Glee Project" features 14 unique "Glee" hopefuls, including 24-year-old Ali, who is paralyzed from the chest down; biracial, Jewish and transgendered 21-year-old Tyler; and completely blind singer/songwriter Mario, who is also 24.
Larsen's fellow co-winner Damian McGinty earned a seven-episode stint on "Glee," but has more than doubled that as foreign exchange student Rory Flanagan. McGinty told HuffPost TV in January that he was looking to mentor on "The Glee Project" Season 2. "We're having talks," he said. "Whatever the ultimate 'Glee Project' experience is, I think I had it. I also believe I could give them a lot of good advice because I know exactly what's going to come their way."
"The Glee Project" Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, June 5 at 10 p.m. ET.
