Viewers trying to figure out exactly how "Duets" (Thu., 8 p.m. ET on ABC) may be starting to put the puzzle pieces together. This week, no one went home again, but there will be eliminations next week. But in an interesting and unforeseen twist, John Legend got the chance to inject his team with some new blood.
Johnny Gray left the show for what was only described as "personal reasons" leaving Legend a contestant short. So he held open auditions, where he found the rather impressive Meleana Brown. 24 hours prior she was just living her life and doing her thing, and now she's on national television singing with John Legend. Life can certainly be crazy at times.
But she showed incredible poise and grace, considering her whirlwind day, and blew the other judges away with their take on Lionel Richie and Diana Ross' "Endless Love." It was enough -- with probably a healthy dose of sympathy -- to put her at the top of the leaderboard and leave her there for the night.
See who goes home when the eliminations start next week on "Duets," Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
