Dark Knight Rises the Biggest Film ‘Since the Silent Era,’ Says Chris Nolan


How major is The Dark Knight Rises going to be? "I think this is the biggest [movie] I've done," director Christopher Nolan tells Empire (via the Playlist). "The biggest one anyone's done since the silent era, in technical terms ... It's not what you're used to seeing. I don't know when someone last did a film with 11,000 extras in a real environment. It is an escalation." And the scene where Batman unties Catwoman from the train tracks? Boffo!
