You call that a werewolf?

Before the start of this season i checked out what was coming on wiki (as you do!)

and found out that Werewolves were the next thing on the list. So I thought "cool" nice way to up the horror after Godric the Christian got smoked

But low and behold after realising that the pack of wolves which surrounded Bill in the first episode were "it" my anticipation was crushed like my dream of getting Beyonce pregnant first.

Instead of getting a beast on two feet hulking over or beloved characters, ready to take off heads like Sara Jessica Parker trying to get the latest anti aging cream, we got lassie's younger brothers with contacts in??!!?

WTF

I cant be the only one thinking this surely? I mean they must have a decent budget with a rating hit like Tru Blood and they couldnt even be bothered to knock on Jim Henson's door for some custumes on layaway

Well I hope it does not ruin things as I for one aint imagining no great battles between the Vampires and Rin-Tin-Tin so without further ado in the language of my country the makers of the series hae not got a scooby doo! (cockney rhyming slang for a f&£king clue!)

Maybe less pop culture references and your argument would be readable

Fair point. The werewolves are essentially just V-addict shifters who can only turn into wolves, which is immensley lame, but I don't think there was ever going to be a Gladiator-esque battle between wolves and vamps, mainly because that would ruin any mystery the two sides have in lieu of basically giving very shallow thrills.

Well, I guess we'll always have the 'Underworld' films for Vampires vs Werewolves in all their bad-assed glory...

Except you know ... the wolves are actually played by real life wolves and wolf hybrids. Darn that dash of reality in a fantasy show!

com on trustar
i might have over done it but it was due to my love of the show that im upset
from my memory even way back to teen wolf or monster squad (classic) the werewolf is a half man-half wolf creature
its not to say that i wont continue to watch coz i am just the first time ever they have used a dog to play a werewolf
otherwise Tru Blood rocks

If you have read the books you will understand that people only turn into half man half wolf creatures if they are bitten but werewolves that are pure blood turn into actual wolves.

I don't see how these aren't half man half wolf depending on your definiton. They are man part of the time and they are wolves part of the time. Last time I checked my fantasy literature that was what a werewolf was. The only real difference I see here is that True Blood (like the books) adopts a slightly newer addition to the werewolf myth that allows them to turn at times besides the full moon.
