the negativity is clouding my aura!

I'm a little dismayed that everywhere I turn, there's negative criticism flying about the new fall line-up. No one seems to be happy... at all. I'm starting to wonder what everyone else was expecting. I mean, I've fallen for a lot of the CW's shows (gossip girl, OTH) but I tune in, never expecting ground-breaking television. It's the CW for crying out loud, lol. But it's as if everyone had been promised Academy-award winning writing for these premieres. I don't get it. Privileged's premiere was DEFINITELY more entertaining than last weeks (i almost didn't make it through OTH, thank god for Deb and Skillz) but everyone's complaining that this writing's horrible, the acting's bad, etc. Were we watching the same show? Because I thought the show flowed extremely well. Maybe a little slow, but what premieres aren't? and I'm looking forward to next weeks episode. I read most of the complaints and started watching this with a feeling of dread (the commercials looked funny and I didn't want to be disappointed) but it was totally unwarranted. It proved a very delightful 41 minutes that completely sucked me in. I'm not sure if the rising gas prices this summer has left everyone bitter or what, but I'm urging anyone who normally reads these things to try it out for yourself. I'm 97.9% sure you won't think it's as bad as most people are making it out to be. And since I'm on the topic of overly-negative flack for a pretty decent TV show, check out True blood, too. No, don't read any reviews because you will spoil it for yourself, trust me. And trust yourself; you know what you'll like more than the jaded few tearing down these pleasantly surprising additions to the fall's schedule.

i couldn't agree with you more [although i do think that veronica mars defied the rule of crappy cw shows, though that one was initially upn 9]. it wsn't a fantastic start, but it was quirky, had the hottest guy I've seen on a cw show in a while [Nate is just not anywhere near as hot as people make him out to be] and had the most adorable rose. it wasn't amazing, but worth a watch and nowhere near as bad as so many proclaim. the truth is everyone wants another gossip girl or 90210, but this, at least, is somewhat different, even if it's about the rich and fabulous again.

I agree with that too, people watch the number of viewers before watching...by the same time, time have been hard for producers who presented all the genres possible! Everyone will find its own show, with a risk : it will probably only last one season ! The starter wife format was cool, I like mini series!
I definitely like many new shows whereas old ones (fourth or third season) have positively surprised me too this fall, like Prison Break or Supernatural (i'm waiting for Lost and Heroes too) which really disappointed me last year! I also regret the over and ever attempt to recreate something that worked in the past such as the new OC, the new X files, the new SATC... it's boring! But I must say that I've been surprised by HBO vampire show True Blood, and after 3 episodes I'm already a fan ! Some fresh air and real fangs, and a true raw original show! I'm sure that everyone will find the show that fits with both personnality, favourite genre and old or new TV addiction! But one thing is sure, discover by yourself! And happily True Blood is neither the new 'Buffy' nor the sequel of Moonlight!

Well, I'm about to see the first episode of Privileged (just waiting for it to load) and to be completely honest, I don't have any expectations. Ok, that's not true; I expect it to be kind of like Gossip Girl meets 90210 meets The O.C. Meh, all those shows are the same to me but, hey! It's entertaining!
By the way, I've just finished watching the first 3 episodes of True Blood and I quite like it. I've been wanting to see a good vamp show/movie for a while now and this one ain't so bad. It definitely sucked me in right away.

I completely agree with you because, I am really enjoying the show, and I'm really excited to know whats going to happen next. As for the critics who have something stuck up there ass I strongly suggest they get a life. Privileged is a good show, people should just give it a chance, it's only been three episodes.

i highly agree with everyone who has commented so far. Privileged is a good show and people should cut it some slack. People think its just going to be another version of gossip girl without even watching it. Talk about biased. Who cares if it's another show about quote "the rich and fabulous" or that its not an award winning show (coming from someone who loves the oscars and golden globes!)its good so pop your feet up grab a drink and watch it before judging it.
