Doctor Who Theories

What do you think about the cliffhanger? Do you think he'll regenerate as another actor or stick around as David Tennant?

Lots of buzz about that. Also, the Doctor's Daughter episode.

They were waiting for her to regenerate and the Doctor says "I guess she's not enough like me..."

when he leaves she regenerates but in the same form.

Do you think this is a hint for David Tennant? Especially when he is supposedly tied to the fifth season when it comes out? Maybe he will regenerate in the same form. But then I will be conflicted. Yay for David. Boo for changes to initial DW mythology!

Another thing. RD mentioned that Tennant is signed on unofficially for the fifth season. Wikipedia says that Tennant is signed on until 2010. However, there is no season next year. There won't be another season until 2010, when Tennant's contract is up. Do you think, perhaps, that Tennant no longer wanted to be part of Doctor Who and quit earlier than expected? This would explain the year wait for another season, and the regeneration at the end of the last episode.

I think that he'll stay until 2010, cos I think I read something about his staying on on his official website. I really can't wait to see the last episode, cos the regeneration scene got me flipping out, haha.
I loved the Doctor's Daughter. Maybe she'll come back on in one of those specials next year? There were no signs of her in the trailers....
He hasn't quit. He just has to fulfill his theatre production quota since he's part of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. He has some roles (I think it's Hamlet? I'm not sure) next year, plus with Russell T Davies moving on to a higher position (and less active with the Doctor Who-niverse), I think they timed the specials just right. So I'm pretty sure his contract's not up until 2010.
You can check for more info, since I think that's where I read the contract bit.

yerh but dont forget there good at hiding secretsif you watched dr who confidential billie piper said that when she left she had to promise to be back in it but said to all the reporters who asked her she lied and said no and most of us belived that (i didnt because i knew that she was working for torchwood and if she truly loved the doctor she would find a way back!)theres also rumors that the parrel earth rose was lost on is actualy our world in the future some how i think thats rubbish but it does explain how rose knows where the doctor will be at certain time periods.i didnt think the dalek particle bolt hit the doctor fully it just sort of seemed to go through half of him and not showing his skeleton.so he might not rejenerate fully and captain jack might proberly try and explain.i also think that if he doesent rejenerate fully i think he will lose parts of his memories like maybe forgetting rose entirely which might be a bizare twist to it!

I think he regenerates in the same form because although there is no Doctor Who next year, David has said that he is doing another season of the show. So David should be back as the Doctor in 2010.

His contract ends January 2010. The next season of Doctor Who starts June 2010, therefore. . . if his contract is up in January. . .

I think he'll regenerate the same because it seemed they were hinting to that with the Doctor's daughter and her regeneration.
But then again they hinted in the beginning of this season that the Doctor's time was almost up, and River Song noted that she remembered him in looking much older, much different - all alluding to the end regeneration.
I love David Tennant. I would hate to see him go.
But as many people have mentioned, throughout the initial series of Doctor Who, The Master continuously regenerated looking as himself, so that could still mean hope for David yet.
To be honest, I think he's the best Doctor yet. It seems he combines all of what we love from all of the past regenerations.

Just a rumor here, but I heard that the regeneration goes wrong (because he was only hit on the shoulder by the Dalek) and there is two of him. There is quite an argument that David can't have left because he's signed on until 2010. I heard a few rumors that According to SyFy Portal, David Tennant is set to leave the show after completing work for the Doctor Who specials for 2009 and Robert Carlyle is going to replace him. I'm not sure, but I really hope he sticks around. Doctor who really wouldn't be the same without David and I would be hard for me to get used to a new doctor. Anyway, I can't wait another week! Cheers guys!

Another 7 hours till we find out, although he is the best doctor for me but i wouldn't mind a change. There were 1 or 2 episodes this years i didn't enjoy e.g. "The Unicorn and the Wasp" i personally thought it was terrible.
