Depressing much? + Nanny Carry :Recycled Character

DOes anybody find One Tree Hill a bit "dark" this year?

I can't help but think how unessecary most of the sad happenings of this season are. Quintin's death was just to keep people watching. Can't the writters of oth be a BIT mor creative in getting us hooked? I mean it just seems like thhe writters just sat at a table thinking of "the worst possible thing that can happen" and just write it down. COME ON!

in conclusin..QUINTIN'S DEATH: UNECESSARY!

Does Nanny Carry remind you slightly of a certain past oth character?

.. DEREK

Derek : obsessed with Peyton

Carrie: obssesed with Jamie

D reason: LOST a loved one and tries to replace her with Peyton

C reason: LOST a loved one and tires to replace him with Jamie

D How: kidnapps, and goes all psycho on her

c How? : kidnaps and goes all psycho on him

yes it has been dark and a bit depressing. and yes derek and carrie have similar reasons for being phsyco. but i think they would have done it for a reason. the whole derek thing made peyton so strong it helped develop her character. so i think the whole storyline with quentin and carrie there is a reason for it.

Ya i so agree, the similarities are there but Peyton came out stronger and they had to have the story line there to have Lucus save her, just one more thing for them to add to the long list of things that make them made for each other. Brooke will turn out to be stronger and a way better mum than Victoria could ever be. Dark it may start but happy endings will come:) ( i hope) Ive been a fan forever now and I think it was great for them to bring the show back this year and whatever "dark" tales they need to spin to keep the show going, good for them. I wrote this before, but I think Victoria might do something stupid with the gun Brooke left at her house on tonights episode, if not on herself than to prove something else. Maybe some sort of framing going on there!

I agree, I thought the same thing. But I guess they thought we wouldn't notice because Carrie is a woman. Which really is like the only difference between her and Derek. It is dark this season, but I don't mind it because it is about 100 times better than last season! It was good to see Brooke dealing with things finally. But now I am questioning whether Victoria is responsable. Something tells me that were not going to find out the truth about that for a good while. I thought there would have been a Breyton scene this episode and was surprised there wasn't. I think the Deb/Skillz storyline lightened the episode. I think I am probably the only one who likes them together lol... They bring out the best in each other! Anway, a bit of a calmer yet lighter episode than what we have seen so far. But I think it was needed.

I have also been a fan forever of this show, and I have to agree that there are some (I think) unnecessary things going on.... not so much Carrie herself than Carrie and "grandpa Dan" storyline. I don't know about you, but every time they get to that story I'm thinking: go away, do sth!!!! It's been three, four episodes, and nothing happened but really depressing Dan on a bed trying to get on the nerves of really depressing Carrie. and so much more interesting stuff is going on elsewhere! the skills story, brooke and her mother, peyton and her engagement!!! but then I think to myself: I actually find an engagement more interesting and worthwile knowing about than a kidnapping! maybe sth s wrong with me! what do you think?

Your right and i just now noticed how alike they are. But their definitely making Nanny Carrie more a part of the show than Derek was. It would seem that in the next couple episodes Nanny Carrie is going to make her move to kidnap Jamie. It's gonna suck when she does though all that waiting for the next episode hoping it'll be the one they find him. But it's gonna be hard for me to watch them so many people will be hurt by his kidnapping. That boy has a lot of people who love him.

Yes Peyton did come out stronger because of psycho Derek but her brother Derek really helped make her stronger. I think he deserves more credit psycho Derek just gave her a reason to get stronger her real brother Derek helped her get stronger.
no your not supposed to know him but im thinking he might turn out to be her biological father. Does anyone else see that coming?

i miss the romance between Nathan and Haley too. It's still there but not like it used to be.

I hope Brooke gets to be a mom and hopefully meet a nice guy who loves her. I think something might happen involving the gun too and I really believe that Victoria sent that guy to attack and rob Brooke.

i agree with you all. Brooke deserves to be a mum more than anything. and naley romance is so much better than how they are at the moment.Nannie carrie drives me crazy too. but i think it will be important to jamies character development. thats what i think anyway.and with brookes storyline with her mum. its pointing towards it being her mum and i think it will be.

Quentin's death did have a point - his job, essentially, was done... and the event was the catalyst for so many things; deb/skills going public, brooke finally letting out her anger/sadness, jamie learning how finality of death - everybody's loss brought them closer together as well.In any case, I hardly think that it was done for the hell of it.However, you've totally opened my eyes to the whole Carrie/Derek thing - luckily, though, Nanny Carrie has more of a motherly love for Jamie whilst Derek's was so much different. Still, I s'pose a little more creativity could have been put in..

Ya, I noticed the similarities too. However, not to bash on the show or anything, but I personally don't watch OTH for its amazing story lines and plot twists. I think most people will agree that the thing that keeps you coming back is the characters themselves and the relationships they have with each other. It's rare to find a show for young people where the cast has such an amazing connection with each other. So, ya, definitely agree that the nanny and the psycho stalker aren't very original, but I didn't really care that much about them to begin with. To me, they're just sorta like background noise to the main characters.

i can't say i agree that it's any darker than past seasons...kinda what OTH is like don't u think?
n i completely disagree with whoever said this season's better than the last already..i think this season is pretty poor....dunno just feels like the inevitable is happening...they've ran out of ideas and they're carrying on 2 make the money coz they know OTH has sucha massive fan base
btw, the last episode, bridge over troubled water, was one of, if not the, worst episodes to date i think.....i mean i know OTH is usually cheesy and believe i dnt usually mind it i mean it is probably my fav show n i think that shows that i'm up at 5.34am watching it and commenting on it but it just went a bit overboard this episode i think

i have to say oth is becoming more and more like a soap opera. there is just too much drama going on at once. the writers have to come up with a way to sprea things out while keeping things interesting. also i would like to see a reconciliation between dan and the rest of the cast.

Robbie Jones (Quentin) had to go, as he is doing saved by the bell, so I think they wrote him out of the show amazingly, and as for nanny carrie - they had to finish the story, as last time she just kinda went into hiding, so hopefully this will be the last we see of her... right??
