666 Park Avenue Creators Discuss Their Approach to Horror on TV

ABC’s new fall series 666 Park Avenue follows what happens when a young couple, Jane (Rachael Taylor) and Henry (Dave Annable) are given a luxurious new home in Manhattan, becoming landlords of a swank Park Avenue building, the Drake. But quickly, it’s clear something very nefarious (and otherworldly) is going on with the building’s owner, Gavin (Terry O’Quinn) and his wife, Olivia (Vanessa Williams).

Speaking about the series at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, executive producer David Wilcox noted, "I’ve been a horror fan for a long time. It's the kind of genre that really has a direct connection to the audience and that has great appeal to me. I thought there was a show in the horror genre that could work on television for a long time." After reading the books 666 Park Avenue are based on, he noted, "I thought this could have the DNA that could really work on network television – a scary, yet character driven supernatural soap."
