TV ratings: 'NCIS' and 'Vegas' open big Tuesday while 'The Mindy Project' starts slowly


Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012CBS got big ratings from its pair of "NCIS" shows Tuesday on the way to an across-the-board win for the night. Both "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" were on par with their debuts last season, while new drama "Vegas" topped the premiere of "Unforgettable" last year in viewers (but not adults 18-49).Elsewhere, "The Voice" came down some for NBC but was still a strong player in the 18-49 demographic. "Go On" and "The New Normal" also fell some in the face of the other networks' premieres, but both remained competitive.FOX's comedies had a rougher start. "New Girl" was well off its strong debut last year (although in line with where it ended last season), and newcomers "Ben and Kate" and "The Mindy Project" posted only modest numbers. CBS scored a robust 17.2 million viewers and a 10.6 rating/17 share in households in primetime, finishing way ahead of ABC...
