'Elementary' will air after the Super Bowl on CBS

CBS has given the post-Super Bowl timeslot to "Elementary," which will all but certainly see its already strong ratings take a leap.The network announced its choice Monday (Nov. 5), giving the spot to the contemporary Sherlock Holmes drama that stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. "Elementary" is one of two new series CBS has already picked up for a full season, along with "Vegas." Fellow drama "Made in Jersey" is already gone, and comedy "Partners" hasn't as yet been extended beyond its initial 13-episode order.CBS last used the post-Super Bowl slot to launch its unscripted series "Undercover Boss," to great success: The show debuted to more than 38 million viewers in 2010.
