CBS Looking to Expand ‘NCIS’ Franchise

Back in 1995 a little show called ‘JAG’ debuted on NBC, but it was cancelled after one season due to low ratings. A little over a year later, CBS picked the show up as a mid-season replacement, airing for the first time on that network in January of 1997. The series ended up airing for an incredible nine seasons on CBS, becoming one of the top shows of all time for the network, ending its run in April of 2005.

The spin-off series ‘NCIS’ was spawned from a two-part episode of ‘JAG’ in 2003 with the shows debut episode airing in September of that year. To date the series has aired on the network for 10 seasons, ranking as the most watched drama for the last few years. Read More...
