Revolution Season 1 Review “Ties That Bind” — The Long, Long Winding Road…

The search for Danny proves to be the least interesting part of Revolution for the eighth week running. ‘Ties That Bind’ saw the search continue, but he’s such an unimportant character at this point that he didn’t even show up in this week’s episode. Even Rachel only got half a minute of screen time. The actual blackout plot moved on somewhat — and by ‘somewhat’ I mean it was at least referred to — with Rachel building something and Randall having some sort of device-y thing in a warehouse. A generator, maybe? I don’t know and I find myself not really caring.

The meat of this episode was a storyline involving Nora and her sister, Mia. Fifteen years ago, they were two young girls who trekked across Texas after their mother was murdered to try and find their father. They didn’t succeed, and how they travelled safely and then grew up in (presumable) safety wasn’t shown nor mentioned. (I won’t criticise this — hopefully it’ll come up in future.) Instead the action moved to the present day, where it seemed as through Strausser was using Mia as another sibling-in-distress to lure the group out and get the pendant and Miles. Read More...
