Starz cancels Kelsey Grammer's 'Boss'

Despite a fair amount of critical praise and a Golden-Globe award for star Kelsey Grammer, Starz has decided to cancel "Boss" with the end of season 2. Low ratings for the series are mainly to blame for the cancellation.The cable network's statement with regard to their original series gives no specific reasoning for the end of the show. "After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with 'Boss.' We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, Farhad Safinia and our partners at Lionsgate TV."The story of a corrupt (and ailing) mayor Tom Kane (played by Grammer) who wields cutthroat power in the city of Chicago, "Boss" never caught on with the Starz audience as the cable channel must have hoped.
