TV ratings: ABC wins the night, CBS holds on with holiday programming

Fast National ratings for Friday, Nov. 23, 2012Black Friday primetime was an evening of reruns and holiday specials, barring ABC, which aired original episodes of "Last Man Standing" and "Malibu Country." Both shows fared evenly compared to last week's numbers.CBS won the war of holiday programming, bringing in 6.9 million viewers for "Frosty the Snowman" and 5.8 million for "Frosty Returns."The CW's "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" and "The Happy Elf" did not fare as well, garnering 1.7 million viewers during the 8:00 p.m. hour.ABC led the night with 5.8 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/6 share in households. NBC (4.8 million, 3.1/5) came in second, just besting CBS' 4.4 million viewers and 2.3/4. FOX (2.0 million, 1.1/2) finished fourth of the night, and The CW (1.6 million, 0.8/1) trailed.The adults 18-49 winner was ABC, which scored a 1.4 rating in the demographic.
