David Tennant's new series 'Broadchurch' to air on BBC America in 2013

BBC America has acquired the eight-part ensemble drama "Broadchurch" starring "Doctor Who" veterans David Tennant and Arthur Darvill to air in 2013.Written and created by frequent "Who" writer Chris Chibnall, the series focuses on a small community thrust into the media spotlight by a major murder investigation.Tennant stars as a detective new to the town and paired with a "compassionate local" played by Olivia Colman ("Hyde Park on Hudson"). The cast also includes Vicky McClure, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan and Will Mellor.Darvill, who recently wrapped a run as Rory Williams on "Who," co-stars as the town priest."We're proud to have cast an outstanding array of Britain's finest performers to appear in Broadchurch," executive producer Jane Featherstone said in a statement announcing BBC America's acquisition.
