Bob’s Burgers Season 3 Review “Mother Daughter Laser Razor”

“Mother Daughter Laser Razor,” the first Bob’s Burgers episode of the year, let Linda hog the narrative for a little while as she attempted to force some mother-daughter bonding with a very resistant Louise. We saw just how much Louise treasured her relationship with Bob back in “Spaghetti Western and Meatballs” but it had never really occurred to me to consider if Louise was equally possessive over her relationship with her mother.

Much to Linda’s frustration, Louise wasn’t, and has never been all that interested in a special relationship with Linda. Linda’s flashback to Louise as a baby saying “dada” when she had hoped to make her say “mama” put Linda’s Louise-mission into a much bigger context. This wasn’t just about a ruined family game night, this was about nine years of Linda feeling insignificant to her youngest daughter. Linda’s quirky sense of humor and idealistic world view made her the complete opposite of the type of person that Louise has always wanted to idealize. Read More...
