Bones Season 8 Review “The Corpse on the Canopy” – Hodgins is The Man of The Hour

In this episode of Bones, called “The Corpse on the Canopy,” Pelant is back to wreak havoc on the lives of our team, forcing one person to make a decision that will change their life forever.

Based purely on the episode description and the fact that we knew Pelant would be back, I knew this was going to be one very intense episode of this show. Boy was that ever true and boy did it start fast. That opening scene really got to me; listening to the baby cry while Angela and Hodgins struggled to wake up from begin drugged. Wow, talk about creepy.

As I watched this episode, it felt like the team was completely isolated. That was partially due to the fact that they purposely got rid of staff at the Jeffersonian, but also because of how closely they were working together, and how we all knew that this case directly affected all of them. I liked how they had to resort to things like the “tinfoil hat” over the lab, Hodgins’ Enigma Machine and spamming to stay one step ahead of Pelant.
