‘The Hour’ Canceled

According to a report at Deadline the BBC (that would be the predominant "network" in the U.K. for those few who are unfamiliar) has canceled the 1950?s period piece drama The Hour after only two (albeit short) seasons on the air.

Their official word is this, "We loved the show but have to make hard choices to bring new shows through." And with that ends the series that starred actors Ben Whishaw (who appeared in last year’s latest 007 film ‘Skyfall’) and Dominic West (‘The Wire’) and actress Romola Garai (‘Emma’ with Jonny Lee Miller of ‘Elementary’ fame) in a behind-the-scenes look at a journalist, a producer and an anchorman for an investigative news program in Cold War-era England.
