The Big Bang Theory Season 6 Review “The Closet Reconfiguration” – Dear Howard

While organizing Howard and Bernadette’s closet for fun, Sheldon unearthed an unopened letter that Howard received from his absentee father on his eighteenth birthday in "The Closet Reconfiguration," this week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory. But just as he was unable to read the contents back then, Howard was still reluctant to find out what his father wanted to say. He burned the letter without looking at it. Fortunately (or unfortunately?) Sheldon had already read it so he would know what box to file it under, and when pressed by the girls, he told them what the letter said. He later told the guys, too, until Howard was the only one who didn’t know. As he still couldn’t make up his mind, Sheldon came up with the (sort of) brilliant idea to have everyone say something different about what was inside the letter, and only one person would be telling the truth. Howard would never know which one, thus fulfilling his desire not to know, but since one would be right, he would have found out what his father wanted to tell him, fulfilling the small part of him that really did want to know.
