The Carrie Diaries Season 1 Review “The Long and Winding Road Not Taken”

It’s on favorite girl’s 17th birthday on this week’s The Carrie Diaries, ‘The Long and Winding Road Not Taken’, and we all remember how birthdays were the pinnacle of our existence in high school. We can also remember, or still realize, that birthday celebrations almost never work out as planned, and Carrie’s busy existence juggling school, work, her boyfriend and her friends meant that her evening was ruined before it even had a chance to begin. First, she’s pressured into going to a work event instead of celebrating at home, and it was actually really nice to see Carrie take the mature path and suck it up. She fought hard for this internship, and it would have been irritating had her birthday stopped her from attending the ‘literary event of the year’. The trouble is, Sebastian can’t even keep her company on account of his mom visiting, and she’s left to schmooze and network on her own. She nearly nails a drive-by meeting with a big editor, too, but her dejected boyfriend arrives just at the wrong moment. READ MORE...
