'Nikita' Season 4 and 'The Carrie Diaries' Season 2 picked up by The CW -- but for how many episodes?

Great news, TV fans! The CW's underrated thriller "Nikita" and even more underrated "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries" will be returning to the network this fall. On Thursday, The CW announced that "Nikita" has been picked up for Season 4 -- but there's a catch. Expect to see a shortened, possibly final, season. The network has not specified how many episodes the show has been picked up for this year, but early reports have suggested we'll see as few as 6-10 episodes. A spokesperson for The CW says that the episode orders will be announced May 16 at their upfront presentation in New York City."The Carrie Diaries" was not a ratings juggernaut, but it had considerable success with online streaming -- which is a sweet spot for The CW. And, of course, it occupies a unique television space, appealing to nostalgic adults as well as teens, with important, culturally relevant storylines....
