TV ratings: 'Smash' bows out quietly as FOX leads Sunday with NASCAR

Fast National ratings for Sunday, May 26, 2013A prime-time NASCAR race carried FOX to a ratings win on an otherwise very quiet Sunday before Memorial Day. NBC's "Smash," meanwhile, scored very modest numbers for its series finale.FOX drew 6.9 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/8 share in households in primetime, pending updates for the live NASCAR telecast. CBS (4.45 million, 3.1/6) came in second. ABC (3 million, 1.8/3) edged NBC (2.4 million, 1.6/3) for third place.FOX was the only network to make any kind of impression in the 18-49 demographic, finishing with a 1.8 rating.
