EastEnders veteran June Brown picked up her MBE at Buckingham Palace for services to drama and charity.
June Brown has played EastEnders icon Dot Branning since 1985. Earlier this year she made history and won critical acclaim when she performed the show's first solo episode.
June described receiving her MBE as a "quite remarkable" experience. The actress, who's eight years older than Dot, continued to say that her character would have enjoyed the royal ceremony: "She would have been absolutely delighted. She's a great royalist and a fairly good Christian."
