Miracles... or delusions?

I'm pleased to say i enjoyed every second of the finale of HIMYM, unlike the previous episodes which starred a certian actress whom doesn't deserve the title in the least...

this episode was more than a redemption, it easily slips into one of my top 5 episodes slot, for the first time i was not only laughing out loud, i actually let out a burst of screaming excitement at the end, accompanied by a blanket of chills.

So he proposed... but the writers left much room for assumptions and pondering.

I have two theories...

since it cut scene before we got an answer, we can not assume stella is the mother. duh. be we can not rule it out either.

if she does end up saying yes, its going to have to be in the first episode of next season. that doesnt leave much room for a show anymore. so if she does, there is either going to be a split up very soon thereafter, or she is just going to say no.

my other theory is that ted actually sustained a head injury of some sort in the accident and will be faced with amnesia and not remember proposing, or will come to his senses and realize that isnt really what he wants.

The only way this episode could have been any better is if it had been abby who was hit by the bus instead of barney. And i know that she will be returning in season four, but god i wish she wouldnt.

either way, or any other, i am very pleased with the finale and all i have to say is, How I Met Your Mother: Thank you.

I think you are right, if Stella is actually "The Mother" there wouldn't be much more storyline left, since the whole point in that show is to figure out who she is.
Don't get me wrong, i like Stella's character but so far it doesn't seem like she is blending in too well in the whole group dynamic or at least she is not appearing in it so far.
I really like that Ted and Barney are finally Bros again. I have to admit, i had watery eyes when they both made up. Very heart warming and Barney didn't lose his awesomeness. And i liked the hint of him loving Robin. I'm pretty open about Robin's and Barney's relationship development. Though i like them to be together because their chemistry works well, i kinda want Barney to stay the womanizer . But I'm certain season 4 will answer all our questions.

I can't wait for the next season and i am absolutely pleased about the turn back to its original spirit. Having Britney in the show once was fun but the second time was too much and I'm sure the creators are aware of it and it takes a few more Britneys to make me stop watching because this show is Legen...wait for it and i hope you are not lactose intolerant 'cos the second word is... dary!1Keep up the good work

Don´t think Stella is the mother, as there would be no point for another season.
I´m so glad that ted and barney are friends again, it was really heartwarming.
The part I liked the best was Barney realising that he actually loves Robin, wow, lets see where that leads us too
can´t wait for the next season

Yea it would seem Stella is the mother with the way this season has gone, BUT i strongly think its not her, and thats because from the beginning of this season we found out that it had something to do with the 'yellow umbrella' which hasnt really come up at any point during the Ted/Stella relationship.
Something i was contemplatin on was that it could have something to do with Stella, after all she's been a big part in the last couple episodes but then again so was Victoria (buttercup) in season one, so i reckon it could be stellas sister... and i the proposal could be how ted meets her.

BTW i know in the episode it said her sister was getting married but Ted did say she was marrying what he describes as the wrong guy (when he got tricked by stella) so she could call off the wedding and end up been attracted to ted. but dats jus a theory, it really does come up to the writers and how much they want to prolong the show, but its goin well so it might be a while.
(last note, some easy maths that help, the kids in the year 2030 are say 16ish, which would mean they were born around 2014, 9months (practically a year) of the mother been pregnant, 2013 and say they were married for a year before they 'decided' to try for children, thats 2012.... in theory i reckon the show will at most go on till then if the network keeps on wanting new seasons.)

I think you're making a bit much of the britney thing, shes not an actress and she hasnt been that bad, but i think its safe to say she wont be returning in the next series. I dont know about anyone else but I've been a bit let down by all the episodes after the writers guild strike, they're just not as good which is a shame because they've got awesome actors (minus britney) and brilliant writers they just need to come up with the goods in series four.

I loved this episode! It was funny, sweet and just what we needed. The best bit was when Barney was looking at Robin when he thought of the things he loved. Sooo sweet. I'm really interested to see where that will go. Also, i don't think Stella is the mother.I know it's not hard evidence but... THE KIDS DON'T LOOK LIKE HER! I still think it may be Robin... even though i like this new Barney and Robin thing. I don't really know.... Oh! And i liked Britney on the show! She was a bit much last episode but at least it was entertaining! Besides, i still have a soft spot for her... she was my favourite singer when i was little.

I Think, judging from several factory, 1) the title (and overall theme of "miracles" 2) the reconciliation of Barny-Ted, and Ted -Stella (and Barny-Robin), and 3) how he is miraculously uninjured in what was quite clearly a serious accident (that black car was going pretty fact, and hit the back passenger side of the cab ,presumably where ted is) Ted is in a coma, nothing that happened after his accident really happened.

just another think i wanted to add...
i always had speculation that robin and barney would end up together, because in many of the narration bits by ted he refers to robin as "aunt robin"
and since ted and barney are bro's again, and it looks like barney is falling for robin, well there you go. aunt robin and uncle barney. I cannot wait to see how barney will try to court robin, likely with many failures as with ted, in the 4th season! woo!
however i dont think it was all a dream or hallucination, that would be much too cliche, especially for a show as high caliber as HIMYM.
