Who is mother? : Robin :)

I strongly feel that Robin is going to be "mother". I know that in earlier episodes Ted had told his kids about "Aunt Robin" but I Strongly feel that writers of this serial are going to bring a good twist and will bring some other Robin to be AUNT and make this ROBIN as Mother.

What's your view guys.... and gals??

I've also tought about it lately, maybe the writers will somehow explain the ''Aunt Robin". Maybe it's some sort of "Family joke". We'll see.

I've stopped caring who the mother is. I used to and liked following the clues but at the end of four seasons they haven't addressed it at all. I just watch it as a comedy show like 'Friends'. I mean, why would Ted tell his kids about the time he almost had threesome or the Naked Man?!? Funny episode Naked Man but that's my point, the title of the show means nothing to me anymore.
And no, he has when he talks about Robyn it's definately 'Aunt' Robyn. And she wasn't at the club on St Patricks day or had a yellow umbrella. See? I used to care.

No, she is not gonna be the mother of Ted's kids, they might come back (as a couple), for a while, but as the last post says: "she (Robin) wasn't at the club on St Patricks day or had a yellow umbrella".
Also, the writers are just extending the "how I met your mother situation" because after he met her I bet there's not gonna be more than one season, think about it, no plot no show.

Same way .. she may have been there with Yellow umbrella... I really hope so bcoz I Love robin and I would love to see Ted & Robin togather..they are best couple.

he refers to robin specifically, not some other robin, as aunt robin. This leads me to believe, since barney is his bro, that aunt robin is married to uncle barney(when talking to his kids, ted refers to barney as uncle barney). And as birdman said, he said, "and thats how i met your aunt robin."
The mother has to be somebody else.

It's common for friends of the family to be known as aunt and uncle to the kids though, so I don't think that's any sort of clue.

I think it's unlikely that Robin will turn out to be the mother. The writers have written that out of thr picture. Bob Saget's Older Ted has made several comments about Robin being simply "Aunt Robin". In addition to the "And that's how I met your aunt Robin" that's oft quoted above, remember the episode where Robin dates Lily's student's dad? She's all skivvy about kids, and awkward around the boy, and Voiceover Ted talks abotu how Robin eventually becomes more kid friendly, and they show pictures drawn by Ted's kids of "Us and Aunt Robin at the zoo" and "Us and Aunt Robin at the...". So it just isn't her, sorry. I am sure that when they eventually intorduce the mother, we will love her, too. But like Asphixia said, once they solve the mystery of the mother, the show's pretty much done. THat's the conclusion we're working up to.

One possibility I thought of was that just because Robin isn't the mother of Ted's children, doesn't mean he doesn't end up with her. In the most recent episode they become "back up plans" so it's not impossible (or even unlikely) that Ted couldn't have
1) Had children with someone2) Some years pass until the kids are fairly mature3) Ted's wife leaves/dies4) Ted marries Robin, but since the kids knew their Mom, she is still Aunt Robin to them.5) This would explain why Ted is so fine with telling his kids about all of the intimacy he and Robin shared.

i thought kings theory was pretty solid at first too but when i thought about it more it has its holes just like every other theory we have all proposed. the early seasons are the only episodes that actually gave hints to the mother, i just hope when the series is over and the mother is revealed we dont look back and find that who they give us as the mother isnt consistent with the facts we have from the earlier episodes.

I still believe its Robin. On the episode they thought Robin and Barney would be parents. Ted spoke to the children as if they were real then once they find out that she can't have kids they fade out and her and barney miss never exist. In plus why her and Ted's relationship never really workout successfully. So all in all things change and it could be other theory its the girl in wedding episode pt. 2. They never really actually met bc they did not Exchange info so they spoke almost kissed but never actually met. LoL
