'Breaking Bad' return sets a ratings record, 'Low Winter Sun' has so-so debut

The return of "Breaking Bad" scored series-record ratings for AMC Sunday night (Aug. 11), drawing the show's biggest audience ever -- and more than doubling its previous high.Yes, doubling. A whole lot of people must have caught up with the series since the first half of Season 5 ended, because the show has never even come close to this big an overnight rating. Sunday's episode drew 5.9 million viewers; its previous high, for the fifth-season premiere in July 2012, was 2.9 million viewers."Breaking Bad" also drew 3.6 million people in the adults 18-49 demographic, making it the top show of the night in that measure, broadcast or cable.Following "Breaking Bad," new series "Low Winter Sun" premiered to 2.5 million people.
