The Truth!

NOT A SPOILER

I do not believe Sam is the Devil's son. In the 5th episode Sam's Father says" What did the devil tell you that?" Which pretty much says he is not the Antichrist. A bummer really to me because that would have been kick Butt. Anyway ummmm what do you guys think?

agreed, but sam's dad is also something special, after all, hes the one who hides from the devil, keeps secrets from his wife, and burned pages of sam's contract. i just think that sam being the son of satan is too ... unbelievable. i feel like he would be smarter if he was (not more sinister, just smarter in general). also, i think sam's devil powers require more explanation. and the 'take any blow' line devil fed sam in this last episode should be interesting to play out. oh, and anyone remember the glasses that sam got last season that let him see the true face of evil? anyone else think the simple solution would be to let Andi see him through them to see if hes evil or not? just thinkin out loud (or... on paper i guess).

Tonight's episode left me angry at Sam for being weak, even though he is only human. I was just upset that he was not able to defend himself from Mason and The Devil. It feels like the devil and Mason are just playing with hum. They are basically teasing him. I do not like the way it turned out. Still a good episode. Also I believe the devil would have known if Sam was the one who Captured the soul especially since we learned the Devil is always watching. He hides in every corner.

i totally agree with both of u Ngrady and Greenlyjade. The latest episode was kinda pathetic for sam. Mason and the devil screwed him over. Basically, nothing good came of it.Also, I had a feeling from the very beginning that Sam wasnt the devil's son. I mean, when they were trying to bury him alive at the end of last season, its the other demons that tell him he's the devil's son and Sam just assumes that its true. They never even showed him asking the devil directly and the devil saying yes, you're my son. The devil himself never confirmed that it was true, he just let Sam believe what he wanted to...

I'm with all of you that the devil could be tricking Sam into thinking he's his son, but then again, there have been all these other moments where I think he says it straight out. Like when the Devil said he had millions of kids on earth and for Sam not to feel special or when Sam and Morgan had that conversation and Morgan told him that only one of them was going to rein hell and he'll walk over Sam's dead body to do it. Idk, I think that Sam could very well be the son of the Devil, I just think that he takes after his human side. There's just the way that Devil treats him that makes me think that's his son. Morgan is obviously the favorite, but it's been pointed out all over the place that no one has seen the Devil treat a Reaper the way he treats Sam. Idk, I think it's definitely a possibility and that means that Sam has more sides to him that what we're seeing...the possibilities for story lines go up :)

ok, i dont feel like goin back and checking, but when sam's mom dug sam's dad up, did the medal door of Solomon's key fly off or not? if it did, it means that even undead, hes not exactly whet he said he was.on a slightly more relevant note, i wanna thank strawberrycute, cuz i also thought there was no actual conformation from one of the 3 people who know the truth (mom, dad, devil) on this topic, i just wasnt sure if i had just missed something.

But... when Sam's dad comes back, Sam says 'you're not my father' to which his dad replies 'the devil told you that huh?' Which either means that the truth is something larger and the dad's covering it up, or that he is in fact the devil's son. I mean, why would his dad cover it up if it wasn't true?

I get the feeling that Sam is more in relation to the big guy upstairs (The big G). If you think about it, why would the devil want an unborn soul? It means that the devil would have to wait a good 60-something years for the soul, and we already know he's impatient. Not to mention children are not born into sin, they're the only true pure, which makes me think that the soul has been signed over for the sake that the devil wishes for him to be evil, so Sam ends up believing that it's fate and allows it to happen. If he was anyway related to, angels, God or heaven, then it would be a huge victory for the devil to convert him and, perhaps, bring on the apocalypse (Not sure if that is actually what would bring on the apocalypse, but it would make a badass story).

Somehow, I have to agree with El_Rodeo. I mean, everyone is thinking that Sam is the Devil's son, but has anyone ever thought that there might be a possibility that he could be related to the Man upstairs?
I mean, think about it. Why else would Steve [now an angel] help Sam escape his fate in being caged forever?

lol, I love all the euphemisms for God here. But seriously, I think that yes, Sam's powers are way underdeveloped and explained. The story, however, is heavy and I think that it's just too difficult to speculate as we see it unfolding from Sam's viewpoint and what Sam knows-- we can't know much more than what Sam knows about his contract, his origins and his current powers. But I think the recent episode shows the ways how Sam is special and more specifically not evil. I think we'll be seeing much more on how he differs from other Reapers and devil's spawn. He'll get out of the deal and do MUCH MORE THAN That apparently.

hey im soooooooo glad i wasnt' the only one wondering abt all those unanswered ques....i also agree with most of you here that sam mite not be the devil's son as the devil himself never once outrightly confirmed the fact.. sam just assumed cuz the other demons told him so..plus when he told his human father that the devil was his real father he seemed to be hiding something when he said he couldn't talk abt the issue of sam's real father..i mean if sam oredi knew the devil was his father and it was out in the open he could've just acknowledged the fact...he had to hide it b4 cuz sam didnt know but know tat he knew why couldn't he just cfm it?? so tat's the biggest clue i got tat sam wasn't his son...also i agree with el_rodeo that sam could have somethin to do with the man 'upstairs' cuz i've oredi seen the season finale when steve broke his hand and said it was for his good...i mean if he was the son of the devil y would the heavens bother so much abt his well being or fate..my theory is tat sam could be the spawn of the man upstairs thru his earth parents and the devil knew tat & wanted to claim him cuz its the best ally against god is to take his son and convert him to become evil and fight against HIM...the reason y sam's earth dad burned the pages containing info abt the real father is cuz maybe it says tat sam is from some heavenly realm....hehe my imagination in running wild here but it could make and interesting story...im reaaaaally hooked on this show...its my favourite show now besides gg...im sooo angry that cw cancelled it but i really do hope...no they must....pick up this show on another network cuz this 2nd season finale ended with so many other ques to answer and it feels so unresolved....like y did steve ruin sams chance of gettting outta the deal...who is sams real father...is sam's human father getting outta hell...wat is gonna happen to sam now tat both he and andi's soul belongs to the devil..they really must bring this show back at least another season to answer all this ques and more and resolve it in a way tat is satisfactory...

you never see the contract maybe it has something written on there i mean like 'i'll give you eternal life if you look after my son' I know the devil said he wasn't special but its obvious that he is or he wouldn't be around him all the time. I et he has lots of people doing the same type of job as sam if not he couldget one why des sam hav to do all the work.Is it some sort of training?Or something deeper?
