What a freakin kickass episode.
Itôs about time for a death on Gossip Girl, and I have to say I wasnôt too sad to see Bart go. (Heôs mean and I always thought he looked like a creepy fish.) In fact most people seemed more shocked than sad at his passing - only Chuck was really affected.
Speaking of, Ed Westwick was amazing in this episode. (And he looked really hot with his sensitive eyes and for once unkempt hair.) Leighton Meester was also great. I really felt for her when she told Chuck she loved him: èToo bad.è And their spooning was very cute. I was upset when he disappeared at the end. Chuck also rejected poor Eric, who tried to reach out to his èbrother.è At least Jonathan returned - it seems theyôre the one couple getting back together.
More cuteness: the Waldorf-Rose wedding - and Derrota looking pretty!
Dan and Serena alllmost made it back together this week, and as much as I think Danôs a judgmental idiot, I like him better than that new guy Aaron and his gross facial hair. If only sheôd answered that phone! It was pretty gentlemanly of Aaron to say he knows about Serenaôs feelings for Dan and is falling in love with her anyway. Buenos Aires does sound cool. But really, the Humphrey and Van der Woodsen families are not lucky in love this week.
The big story: Rufus and Lily! As I suspected, Lily was in the hospital to have an abortion, and Rufus was presumably the father. Again, they almost got back together - until Cece intervened. I hate her, as Iôm sure Iôm supposed to, but I guess I canôt fault her too much for supporting honesty in this case. If Rufus wasnôt such a crazy romantic I donôt think this would be such a big deal. I mean, it was like 20 years ago, and Lily was probably in her early twentis if that. Itôs her hot body and she can do what she wants!
So, any thoughts? Is anyone else rooting for the Chuck/Blair, Serena/Dan and Rufus/Lily trifecta? Strangely enough, this episode almost brought me to tears - but not because of the death, but because of the could-have-beens of these three couples.
