Doomsday Season Finale

Let me start off with saying that I'm still dumbstruck by the results of this episode seriously am in between major letdown and just yelling out ohhhh come on!

First of all I can't agree more on the fact that the fight between Clark and Doomsday was supposed to be epic a free for all of punches and explosions and all we got was basically 3 minutes of Clark getting beat up and then him tackling Doomsday to his supposed grave!!!

Second while I say that I'm dumbstruck it's because basically after the part with Lois vanishing and so forth I felt like I was in a dream or watching one it had no sense to me yes i was taken for a ride but it was like wanting to go to disneyland and be left off at Burger King!!!

I'm be a little bit hard for sure but it's only because I'm such a fan in general of the comics and series that I don't feel like there using all the potential the actually have this season was really good and the managed to get many people once again interested in the series but for the die hard fans that haven't gone anywhere since the beginning the where a lot of WTF moments.

But that doesn't say it wasn't a pretty decent episode it was, even the though it goes against my whole knowing mythology when Jimmy presents the watchtower to Cloe and for them to get back together only to have Davis stab/kill beastly psychotically ( very well acted) Jimmy was definitely the best/epic part of the episode totally outshining what was supposed to be the rest.

The rest of the episode from there sets up the next season with the appearance of the mysterious figure at the end ( which I'm pretty sure is Zod) to Cloe giving the camera to Jimmy little brother and connecting the visit from the Legion Clark did die at least part of him and with all this you can just see it coming next season I bet there gonna start out with Lois in the future seeing the Clark is all cold and Jimmy's little brother being like Jimmy and the world all amok just for her to come back and make a difference etc etc.

Anyway this episode left me with alot to say but it also left me with the notion of hope to see if the can fully bring out there potential in the next season. It was a pretty surprising episode for sure I would love to know wht everyone else thinks...

well, first of all it was absolutely clear that jimmy would die from the moment that clark told him his secret. they wouldn't do the whole memory-erase thing and so he had to die.i have to say that i'm not sure what to think of this episode either. i honestly had the feeling that 40 minutes were just not enough time to make the ending as perfect as it could have been. the fight between doomsday and clark was awfully short, jimmy's enlightenment seemed somewhat abrupt even though understandable (but his total happyness and then his death...it was just very predictable).clark acted weird in the end and it's a little too harsh for me that he leaves chloe behind...i mean, she lost everyone she loved!i liked the part with oliver in the end and with the tear rolling down his cheek.the part with lois was...well...abrupt again but i think this storyline with her going to the future has a lot of potential!
but still, i think they could have done better with an 2 hour finale like grey's did or the housewives next sunday.and zod? he was gone so why bring him back? a new villain would have definitely been better.

Kannan T. Periyasamy smallville s08e22are you kidding me!!!!
i know smallville has taken a different dirt road to the DC comics with it innovative way to piss off the regular DC comic punters, but this episode really takes the biscuit. the title 'dooomsday' brought back memories of the ultimate battle between superman and doomsday or at least the british slasher horror! What they actually decided to give us, these dons of sitcom, was superboy getting his butt wopped then rugby tackling doomsday to a firery end, with no fight scenes or at the very least clarks contemplation to kill the beast (as in various doomsday epidodes in comics and cartoons). then the whole lois, chloe, bloom, jimmy yarn..... come on, consistancy people. I was lost hoping someone would put me out of my missery.
I know they want to cancel the show but killing what could have potentially been the best finally (as all the smallville finale have been quite good so far), was completely, for the lack of a better word, 'excrement', very smelly excrement!!!
did the writters suffer a stroke! i hope they did as that is the only way this episode could have been written!
I JUST HOPE THE NEXT SERIES STARTS BETTER, AND IF I BOTHER TO WATCH IT, I HOPE I DO NOT RELIVE THIS AWFULL NIGHTMARE!!!
What a JOKE, thanks Smallville for leaving me unsatisfied, i'll have to go watch 'days of our lives' or something as bad, just to feel a sense of purpose!!! maybe knightrider 2008.

I am disappointed with the finale as it did feel very rushed and could have definitely used another hour to wrap things up a little more conclusively. I did like the fact that they began the process of eliminating Chloe. As we all know she was not a prominent character in the comics so they have to get rid of her eventually.
You people seem to be forgetting that Smallville takes place pre-Superman. This is Clark's first battle with Doomsday not the epic battle we know from the comics. He only traps Doomsday beneath the crust of the earth he didn't kill him. Which explains why Superman knows who and what Doomsday is when they finally meet at the epic battle we know and love.
As far as the Lois and Jimmy story lines go, I think one will serve to correct the other. We all know Jimmy is alive and well and working at the planet with Lois in the Superman era, which leads me to believe that the legion ring Lois has will end up bringing her back to save Jimmy somehow. Unless of course Jimmy's brother takes on the name Jimmy as a tribute to his older brother.
Now to the topic of Zod..... Again we come back to the fact that Zod plays a role is the Superman Era, so they needed to free him somehow to make if feasible that he appears on earth again in the future. Albeit, the way they went about it was totally lame it had to be done at some point.

The Little brother was the Jimmy from the Comics. The jimmy you have been watching didn't have the same name. They explain it when she hands the camera to the little brother.
