Sloppy

Ok, first post. This season doesn't suck like season 2, at least more entertaining, variety of interesting powers, darker, enjoyable enough to ignore the wooden acting.. how actors from one of the best shows ever on TV, the Wire, got involved, is anyone's guess.

But certain sloppy mistakes are glaring - Sylar got super hearing by killing woman - Dale I think it was in Season - 1 but can't hear Claire's dad tell vortex guy to kill him...hmmm

still the twists and turns help, and the blurring between good and bad and often repeated "heroes and villains" will keep me coming back..

Wow, I hadn't even realized that but that's a really good point. I bet there's tons of sloppy "mistakes" or what not on the show especially with Hiro who can apparently control time yet he can't turn back time when he needs to get something back like say the stupid formula. It's really odd..but still interesting. Oh so confusing..

Yeah... the Sylar issue is indeed sloppy. I seem to remember that, when he took Claire's powers, he said something like 'I lost everything that made me special'. Yet, at the final episode of season two, we see him use his telekinetic abilities, so that can't be it either. I think he just stole too many powers for Tim Kring to keep track of.
And that reminds me of something else. Peter's 'hunger' now that he has Sylar's power: why the head slicing stuff. Seriously. All Peter has to do it be near the people, right? They don't need to die. So why is he walking around like a mass murderer, cutting his own mother's forehead?

Maaike, im not sure but i think its just a side effect of the "hunger" he has to kill people to be satisfied?

THANK YOU maaike for bringing this topic up with Peter and the cutting head issue.I think is very lame that Peter is attacking his own family. I thought Sylar's hunger is coming from his 'childhood' and the endless trying to be special. When he discovered he decided to collect as much abilities as possible in order to be as special as possible...
I like the show very much especially after the s2 and i'm very curios of how they gonna keep on going.
By the way I think it was predictable already after the first season that the oldest Petrelli will have a chance of showing what is he capable of...

But he does mention it later in the car. My guess is he heard everything, but, with his first power, decided it was best to watch.
Stephen Hawking is this season's antagonist =(

Sylar did hear Mr. Bennett telling the blackhole guy to kill him... He didn't say or do anything about it... but you could tell by his body language that he'd heard it. To me, it came across like he'd heard it, but waited to see what would happen.
Why would he bother saying anything, forcing a confrontation? He heard it, knew it was a possibility, and would have been ready for it.

That's true, Sylar could have heard but did nothing, just seemed to react like someone who couldn't quite hear, plus if I thought a Vortex could pop up from someone instantly and take me out, I don't know if I would have waited and see...
Maybe he did lose that power
but good comments, thx..

sadly you guys are quite wrong about sylar, he did hear but the storyline was about the criminal not wanting to be a monster any longer and in fact if sylar would have done anything we have probably ended up being sucked in one of those vortex.
about peter, his powers are to absorb the other heroes powers but also their problems with it, like in season 1 with ted the nuclear dude. So the reason why peter tried to kill ppl (the family thing here doesn't apply) was because they had powers and his hunger forces him to go and grab it or whatever he does in the brain.
