Fold 'Em

Timothy Hutton was not terrible, after that it is a stretch to say something positive about the show. With TV like 24 and Mad Men, the ante has been significantly upped and Leverage, it is time to fold.

The character dubbed as the muscle was absolutely unbelievable, unless of course we are watching Heroes. The tech guy is a direct copy of Will Smith, but no where near as good. The accent on the front woman grifter was tres terrible, where was she supposed to be from???? And are we supposed to believe she was that hot, that men would swoon over her… The blonde's character was not developed what so ever. Finally the writing was incredibly predictable. Too bad, maybe if the entire writing team is revamped and some change outs with the actors, the premise is a good one.

I no, will smith has never played a tech guy on anything, so that comparison unless you are saying they are both black but....is that what ur saying? Cause that is the only way the comparison makes any sense. As for the womans accent, what are u talking about, that was a perfect South African accent, go watch blood diamond cause the oscar worthy accent everyone was talking about that he had in that movie is the same exact accent she had, sounded great. The blond character wasnt developed yet, but she will be, and how can you say the writing was predictable? The predictable thing would of been for the mark not to see anything coming, the fact that they wanted him to see it coming was a good twist. This show really reminds me a lot style wise, if Ocean's 11 had been turned into a tv series, not comparing it to that at all, just the style. This isnt the best show ever made, but it is a promising cable show, that will hopefully continue to get better. All in all it was a pleasant surprise, better than I thought it would be, definitely a lot better than you are making it out to be.

If you're saying that Sophie's regular accent sounds fake, then apparently you don't know what an English accent sounds like. She's an English actress from England. You can see her in shows such as Jekyll, by the BBC. And yes, she is much more attractive and charming than most female leads.
Christian Kane's action sequences are far from "unbelievable" (btw, that's a misuse of the word). If you think he has no experience doing stunt work, check him out in the last season of Angel.
I agree that "the blond character," Parker, could have been better drawn out in the pilot. However, you just had to be patient. The latest episode helped to expaind the depth of her character.
As to the general quality of the show, it is far from perfect, and is slightly lacking in depth. However, it is a good deal better than most other shows that have been continued this fall. It is certainly better and more clever than tired-out drivel such as CSI, and a great deal more enjoyable to watch.

I'm going to add my two pence and address your issues with the characterizations, focusmm:1.) FIRST: This show is about "shady" characters - GRIFTERS and shysters. They're supposed to be low-key and mysterious. If everyone knew every single thing about them right away, they wouldn't be successful at what they do now would they? They wouldn't be able to get away with anything; which is the whole point of the show, correct?2.) And really?...You don't get Tim Hutton's character?? He is dealing with a huge insurance company's immense greed and underhandedness that directly resulted in his beloved son's death even though he had dedicated his career to serving said company honestly and loyally. They screwed him. He is going after IT and their ilk.
3.) Gina Bellman - Sophie - ("accent tres terrible") is from ENGLAND! I recommend you watch her in 'Jekyll' and 'Coupling'. She's a very good actress. In this series she's got quirks and idiosyncrasies that are in development so you can't help watching her to see what happens to her character next. I think she's adorable.4.) You just saw in this last episode why Parker is so angry and distant and insane and focused on doing damage... I don't blame her.
5.) As for Eliot and Alec - who I think are brilliant characters played exceedingly well - we have yet to see why they are so committed to maiming physically and wreaking havoc technologically... I suspect they have also been horribly and unjustly used somewhere in the past which makes them want revenge. I guess we'll find out in upcoming episodes.
Look, every single detail about EVERYTHING can not ALL be revealed in the first episode as you seem to wish. Otherwise, what would we have left to discover?!?

I agree completely with alonso. I mean the show is awesome, Eliot is gorgeous, Nate is haunted, Sophie is amazing, Parker is psychotic, and Alec is a genius. Everybody brings something different, and in the midst of a dangerous scheme they find humor, they make jokes, focusmm you have issues. A series has to build, not show you all its cards at once.

i disagree completely with this guy, i think he is judgemental and disasterously pessimistic rather than realistichowever thats not why im commenting, if i commented on ever paragraph written by a uninspired moron i would hav hand cramp for years and i would never be able to jack off so to speak *cries*
the reason im commentin is due to one issue he brought up"And are we supposed to believe she was that hot, that men would swoon over her" yes, dude, i dont know where u come frombut if its on earth, then if even a quite pretty girl shows interest in a guy, he's gonna swoon, he's gonna fukin swoon like a swan on acid!!
anyway...thats all i hav to say
good day to you all =]
and i totally agree Christian Kane is GORGEOUS!! tho i wish he would style his hair somehow...even jst a pony tail or somethin...(i aint gay, jst appreciative lol)
