In this episode of Hawaii Five-0, called “Hana lokomaika’i” (Hawaiian for “The Favor”) a current case brings up bad memories for Chin, but also leads to a painful truth.
I was at a media event last week, so I was unable to watch this episode when it aired. That meant that I was a little bit spoiled on what happened, but not nearly enough to ruin the experience. In fact, it turned out that I wasn’t really all that spoiled at all, considering I missed the biggest bombshell in this episode: Malia’s brother killed Chin’s father.
One thing I was warned about before sitting down to watch this episode was the fact that Danny didn’t appear in one scene and Steve appeared in it very little. Those are the two main guys on the show so I have to admit to wondering how much I would enjoy this episode. The answer? A whole lot.
