Season 4, Episode 5: Monster Movie - DEAN IN LEDERHOSEN?

Episode five is going to be Supernatural's first and only black-and-white episode. It's meant to pay homage those old monster horror films that starred folks like Peter Lorre, Vincent Price,Christopher Lee and Bela Lugosi.

So will make an appearance? Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, or all three and a few more to boot?

*Note Ye All: Dean is wearing evidently authentic Lederhosen in at least one of these pictures. We honestly never thought we'd see the day.

I just hate these 'tribute' episodes. They're always just fillers and don't move the story on.

They are often fillers, but they're also comic relief. So far, we've had some very serious episodes. It might be nice to have one that just makes us laugh and also makes Dean and Sam stick together...so far this season, they've been so distant that it feels almost like a different show.
Still great, though.

It's fiction. Comic relief? They're not real.

Well...yeah...butthe episodes that aren't fillers aren't real either.Okay...that seems like a given. But great fiction imitates real life. And makes us give a damn. And in life, a lot of pointless crap happens. So...I don't mind the occasional episode that stands outside the central plot-line. Sometimes it's necessary just to keep the story digestible.Also...I think the writers would have a hard time doing 22 episodes every season if they didn't have some that were just plain "fluff."I agree that these episodes aren't usually as entertaining as those that "matter".
