The Ghost in the Shell adaptation has been in various stages of development at DreamWorks for the last four years now, but it appears to have found a director in Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).  Based on the 1989 manga by Masamune Shirow and adapted by screenwriter William Wheeler (The Hoax, The Cape), the futuristic police thriller follows “the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.”  Hit the jump for more.
