THE BIG BANG THEORY: "THE MOMMY OBSERVATION" REVIEW

Judging from the early minutes, this wasn't shaping up to be a particularly memorable Big Bang Theory episode. At first, it seemed as though the conflict would revolve around Stuart's untimely death, which would have been both unnecessarily dark and a waste of an already underutilized character. And then, once it became apparent that Stuart's melodramatic flop was the cue for Raj to launch into another of his murder mystery dinners, it seemed "The Mommy Observation" was just going to hit on familiar beats. After all, it was only a few months ago that "The Scavenger Vortex" saw the gang break into pairs to participate in Raj's intricate scavenger hunt. Granted, I was pretty fond of that episode, but do we really need two storylines with such a similar premise in one season?
