I like torchwood, I dont like Gwen.

It might seem shallow or weird but something about gwen's face annoys the shit outta me. I really like the show but her teeth man.. just weirds me out. She's pretty and everything but something about her can't put my finger on it, just annoying.

I had that same gap in my teeth growing up I hated it for over twenty years, Till I finally got a good job and was able to have them fixed by my dentist. It cost me around $8000 in the U.S. to have that done. I never thought I could have spent the money on acting school in the U.K. and been in a really cool sci-fi series like Torchwood. Seriously though Britain seems to be lacking in good orthopedic and plastic surgeons maybe there society doesn't hold it against you for not being perfect as much as the states. I think the teeth give Gwen a good tomboy look that fits her role in Tochwood perfectly still fem, but not the perfect pretty face.

The gap can be explained by the lack of dentists in socialist countries. I do not mean to start a debate here (and yes, I do know that I probably will start one), but dentists do not get paid much in countries with socialized healthcare and because of that there is a huge lack of dentists and the like.

Her teeth are fine. The gap is sexy- although I hadn't even really noticed it til I saw this thread.
If it does bother you, perhaps consider that there may be a happy medium between her teeth, and the oversized, preternaturally gleaming, and in fact, downright freakish gnashers sported by Hilary Duff et al.
There's something to be said for unfussy natural beauty!

LOL, I live in Costa Rica, with a great social medicine program, and there are thousands and thousands of US and Canadians coming here every year to get their teeth fixed for about 1/3 the cost of up north, so I tend to side with the above post that the Brits, and indeed most of the world outside US and Canada, are not so hooked on the "perfect smile", "perfect body" thing as US and Canadians are AKA the Hollywood Movie Star Look. Also more of a style of the times thing. See Omar Sharif, an actor considered a sex symbol in his time. big ol gap in this teeth.
Now I am a Canadian, and am a product of the same social medice thing, and yes I had braces, and my teeth are great, so not sure if the social med thing has much to do with it as dental in canada is free only for what is needed, not cosmetic. pointing once again to more of the substance over style thing.
I personally find her sexy as hell .
Just my 2 cents worth.Cheers

I think she looks fine like a normal person you see everyday. We all can't afford braces and veneers. She has real teeth the kind you can floss and aren't blinding everybody when you speak. I live in the US too and I think it takes maturity to love your natural self. I go to a dentist ( no cavities) and he told me it was good to have space between your teeth for less food to get caught between them. That's just my perspective peace.

Well we do pay for the NHS through taxes and dentists get on average a six figure salary.
So midnightmoose all dentists in countries whose healthcare isn't 37th in the world are poor so therefore as every teenager gets free orthodontic treatment all our teeth are terrible. (I think the UK is at about 12 for healthcare in the world, and France which is also mainly socialised is number 1)
Though to be fair the NHS are cutting back on dentistry.
At least her teeth aren't so stupidly perfect it's actually rather garish and shallow. If something so small bothers you, then you obviously live in a cardboard box as every ones teeth are different
