SGA 5-6

I'm 75% done watching it and it's ripping my heart out. This is on par with Carson's death except this is keeping a lump in my throat the whole time.

I know! The Shrine has to be one of the greatest episode of the series (so far). I'd bet money that Hewlett (McKay) wins some award for his acting in this episode. It's also good to see some depth being added to Jewel Staites character (Dr. Keller) as the cliched new-guy and scared of everything was wearing thing, especially as Woolsey took to it like a fish to water (or weird parasite thing to a brain).

While the majority of the episode was great, the ending was kind of bland. *I wont spoil it directly* This big build up, then just as they enact their "plan" POOF its all over good guys win, everything is back to normal within 1 minute of tv time. they could have at least tried to add some suspense to it.
I mean, we all knew that McKay would be fine in the end, the show always resets its main cast back to normal. Like when John was a bug, or when anyone gets captured, they all get saved and go back to normal by the end of the story. But they could have at least played some tense music, and made it seem like it took effort to save McKay. Nope, just a lucky fluke and everyone is okay. Its like the writers poured so much effort into the first 90% of the story they just got tired at the end and just wrote down something quick and went home.
